A private, self-hosted tool that tracks one household’s electricity use and explains where the power bill comes from.
What it does
- Reads live wattage from smart plugs and power strips on the home network.
- Reads thermostat status (temperature, set point, and when heating or cooling is running) to estimate how much electricity heating and cooling use.
- Compares that with the utility’s meter data to show which devices cost the most.
Who it’s for
Watt Stalker is a personal project used by a single household. It is not a public service: there are no sign-ups, no accounts for anyone else, and no ads. It runs on a server inside the home, and its data doesn’t leave that server.
